Project Description

Uganda Tourism Board

The Rwenzori Mountains, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest population of mountain gorillas, the home of the Big-Five and the source of the mighty Nile in Lake Victoria: these are just some of the highlights of the Pearl of Africa. Ernest Hemingway already appreciated the beauty of Uganda. Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart also experienced it during the shooting of the film classic “African Queen”. In 10 national parks a variety of animals and plants can be observed. With over 1,000 bird species, Uganda is also Africa’s richest country for birds. The pearl of Africa offers many nature and adventure possibilities.
